A New Orleans native, LaFonta grew up in the heart of the city, the seventh ward. A Southern University Law graduate, LaFonta began the firm because he believed there was a need for better representation with a keen focus on client relations. He built his practice on the belief that clients deserve attention and responsiveness in times of emergency. He believes that clients should see, trust, and relate to their representation.
With over 17 years of experience, LaFonta served the New Orleans community as the former chairman of the Louisiana Legislative Black Caucus, the former State Representative of District 96, and a former adjunct professor at Dillard University. He served as the lead negotiator in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina, resulting in 1.2 Billion dollars that were used for redevelopment, repair, and new initiatives for the city and region.
With a concentration on personal injury, LaFonta successfully represents individuals involved in automobile accidents, 18-wheeler accidents, truck accidents, motorcycle accidents, boating accidents, hit and run injuries, pedestrian injuries, bicycle accidents, burn injuries, head/brain injuries, wrongful deaths, and medical malpractice cases.
Known as the community’s son, his love and support for small businesses and community programs is revered throughout the city. He is consistently reaching out, supporting and coordinating initiatives that support the less fortunate New Orleans community.
By personally managing and marketing the firm, his unique perspective and personality flow into to more than his practice. In early 2018, he launched a nationally recognized multiplatform ad campaign which featured local music and reality star, Big Freedia. The ad was so successful the commercial was featured on ELLEN, MTV’s Ridiculousness, Big Freedia: Queen of Bounce, and a host of other national shows. His billboard is commended for being a brilliant alternative for print marketing strategies!
